Windy Conversations
between Cameras and Kites
No other genre of aerial photography can be more ancient and magical as kite aerial photography. Its history can be traced back as far as 1889 wherein Arthur Batut, the Father of Kite Aerial Photography, made the first kite aerial photograph capturing an aerial view of his farm of En Laureat Labruguière (Tarn), France.
From then until now kite aerial photography has not ceased to capture the fascination of those who have witnessed it performed, drawing them to look closer rather than frightening them with roaring engines and whipping rotors.
With the technology present today, kite aerial photographers has never gained more freedom to experiment by being able to capture hundred or even thousands of photographs in one flight and to explore by taking advantage of image-processing softwares.
